Welcome to the Home Page of the
Men's Garden Club of Minneapolis

The Men's Garden Club of Minneapolis is a membership organization intended for all people interested in gardening. Despite our name, our membership is about 40% female and comes from communities all over the Twin Cities metropolitan area. Our members come from all walks of life and have very diverse gardening interests.

The Men's Garden Club of Minneapolis is celebrating its 66th year of existence in 2008. We received our charter from the Men's Garden Clubs of America in October 1942. For more about our history, check out the about us link.

The Men's Garden Club of Minneapolis was formerly an affiliate of The Gardener’s of America/Men’s Garden Clubs of America. MGCM disassociated itself from TGOA/MGCA in June 2002. The majority of our members are also members of the Minnesota State Horticultural Society, and a large number of us are members of the University of Minnesota Landscape Arboretum.

We have activities throughout the year. Check out the events page to get an idea of some of them. All of the activities of the club depend on the active work of the various committees. Members are asked to attend at least four meetings a year and be active on two committee.

A monthly newsletter, The Garden Spray, keeps members informed of coming events and up–to–date on what has occurred in the recent past. You can check out the latest issue of the Spray by going to the events page and clicking on the appropriate month. There are also an archives of issues from 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006 and 2007. You will need the free Adobe Acrobat Reader in order to view the newsletter.
